Emma: Hey Poppins, are you ready for our menu planning?
Thermomix®: Hi Emma, of course! But could you please stop calling me Mary Poppins? Otherwise, I’ll have my 3D printer print me an umbrella and I will fly away!
Emma: Yeah, OK... Can you make me a power smoothie? I’ve filled your amino acid tanks. I’m so nervous about great-great-grandma’s birthday next Saturday that I could hardly sleep.
Of course, we don’t know how many smoothie recipes will be bundled in Cookidoo®, the official Thermomix® recipe portal, in 2163. What we do know: There are currently 90,000 recipes worldwide for treats of all kinds:
The Thermomix® hops off the sideboard and flies to the aquaponics module on the doorstep using hover technology. Since cars are no longer needed, the streets are used to cultivate crops in large tanks in which fish are also bred – for everyone to enjoy. Back in the kitchen, it whirs briefly and a delicious smoothie with fresh raspberries, dandelions and goji berries is ready in front of Emma.
The TM6 cannot speak yet or hover, but it is constantly learning: for example, we have taught it the “chopping” mode – perfectly adapted to certain foods. The TM6 now also has a timer and a Cooking Center so you can keep an eye on everything.
Thermomix®: Here you go! By the way, your smartwatch told me that your stats aren’t optimal. Make sure you drink enough water today, OK?
Emma: Yahaaa! You’re worse than mom!
Thermomix®: Beep-beep. Unfortunately, I didn’t understand what you said. Beep-beep. Please try again, preferably a little more politely. Beep-beep.
They both laugh. The smartwatch on Emma’s wrist transforms her mother’s face into that of an excited duck mom on the display.
Networking - a key topic for us. We recently launched a gadget that extends the cooking guarantee to ovens, pans and grills: The Thermomix® sensor is inserted into a steak, fish or cake and connects to the TM6 and the new Cooking Center app via Bluetooth. When the food is ready, a message is sent to the cell phone or display:
Meanwhile, Emma’s children are in the Snoezelen room with dad Hugo – and are also getting creative.
Nick: Come on, Maja! I think he’s asleep. Can you turn his arm, just slightly? Otherwise, I won’t be able to reach the vein in his hand with the scanner!
Maja: I’ll try... What’s the first thing we print when we have power over Poppins’ 3D printer? I want gummy bears without end!
Nick: Shh, not so loud! The sleeve a little higher... yes, it should work like that...
Meanwhile, the planning for great-grandma Lissy’s 111th birthday is underway in the kitchen. The family is big – after all, Lissy has been married four times. Unfortunately, the patchwork clan can’t simply beam themselves to Emma, because in the year 2163, teleportation technology is not yet fully developed. Fortunately, there are alternatives.
Thermomix®: I think it’s great that your half-brothers and their children will be there as holograms. You can’t travel from Australia just like that... But it’s still not clear whether Lissy’s stepsisters will join in from Moon Village, is it? Have you booked enough hologram chairs?
Emma: Twelve, that should be enough. Plus 23 guests who are celebrating with us here. Are you thinking of linking up with their body monitors? You know that my little niece doesn’t tolerate gluten and Lissy always mixes some magnesium into her food.
Thermomix®: Of course, I know that!
Emma: I just want to make sure that your treats are perfect for everyone...
Thermomix®: ... and that’s why I’ve been collecting all the data for a long time and have already been in contact with my Thermomix® colleagues on site. Everyone knows: as soon as we’ve decided on the menu, I’ll share our recipes with the community. Then they can cook our creations themselves. Our hologram guests will feel like they’re with us live – don’t worry! What are we serving anyway?
Personalized recipes? No problem. With the new Cookidoo® function “My creations,” anyone can create their own recipes, import them and prepare them on the TM6:

The recipes can also be shared with the community using the new sharing function. This allows amateur chefs to network even more closely and share their passion for exceptional flavors.
Emma: So: Lissy is currently on a nostalgia trip and wants a culinary journey through time: Schnitzel in the style of the 20th, 21st and 22nd centuries.
Thermomix®: Well, the 20th century won’t be easy, people still ate real animals back then.
Emma: Why don’t you network with the Urban Farm over there and ask how much it costs for them to fly us to Australia and the moon with the eSpeed drone.
Thermomix®: I will. By the way, the history section of Cookidoo® has really tasty recipes for authentic side dishes from back then. If necessary, we can order the ingredients from the antiquarian bookshop simulation.
Teleportation and drone deliveries to the moon will probably remain science fiction for the time being. So, it’s a good thing that we cooperate with various online delivery services and that you can simply order the ingredients for your favorite recipes via Cookidoo®.
Emma: Good idea! Why don’t you look up the recipe for retro potato salad from this new Peruvian community star? It’s got great reviews on Cookidoo®!
Thermomix®: Already done. What kind of schnitzel can you imagine for the 21st century? Maybe pea protein meat?
Emma: Yes, very good. And for the 22nd century, I think in-vitro meat would be good, but only from our protein farmer around the corner. Please make sure that the packaging is edible for everything.
Thermomix®: Yep, most of it comes in alginate foil, which I use to bind the sweet potato mousse for dessert. It works really well!
Emma: Speaking of cute – where are my two cuties? I hope Nick and Maja are doing their schoolwork.
At least they are working hard on solutions. While dad Hugo is still snoring blissfully in the Snoezelen room, Nick and Maja sneak into the children’s room with the scanner and their junior smartwatches.
Nick: Oh no, it says: “Multifactor authentication!” Apparently, we also need the password.
Maja: And now? I want gummy bears! He must have protected the password really well.
Nick: Not, dad. Rico told me yesterday that most people use “password123.” Like 150 years ago. I’ll try that.
Maja: Nicki, you’d better not do that, otherwise...
Nick: “Unauthorized access attempts detected. System locked. Notification sent to the administrator.”
Maja: Oh, no... that’s trouble. Bye-bye, gummy bears.
At the same moment, a small signal lamp lights up on Poppins’ display. The Thermomix® jumps off the sideboard and hovers towards the 3D printer, which buzzes briefly.
Thermomix®: Should I have a quick look at them, Emma?
Emma: Yes, please. I have to think about the other desserts for a moment anyway...
Poppins knocks on the nursery door. Nick and Maja open it with bright red heads. The Thermomix® hands them two tiny gummy bears with a big grin on the display.
Thermomix®: For you – with an extra portion of vitamin B12. It’s supposed to be good for cognitive performance. By the way, Hugo has just changed his password. Until just now it was: “Do you think I'm stupid?”
A giggle comes from the Snoezelen room.
